About Us

The filmmakers & vow-takers

My name is Faith Collins. I’m the owner, lead videographer and editor of Take A Vow Productions. Since receiving my BA degree in Communications, Media and Film, I’ve been a freelance photographer/videographer for families, couples and small local businesses. I have always been a storyteller, and believe that someone’s love story is one of the most beautiful tales to tell. While filming weddings, I do not just see the wedding day, but the journey each person has made to get there.

I have always let my creative eye guide my work. Other than filming and editing weddings, I am a published illustrator and avid painter. I was also a finalist in the Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA) competition, which addresses accessibility barriers in businesses. As one of the only female-owned wedding video companies in Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex, I hope to continue to embrace and encourage other women in business.

Standing by my side is my talented husband, Ryan Collins. Ryan is the 2nd videographer for Take A Vow Productions. Since getting his BFA degree in Communications, Media and Film, Ryan has managed social media for over 100 businesses across Canada, including Blackburn Radio in Chatham, Ontario.

Although corporate advertising and communications has brought him success, Ryan finds real fulfillment from being able to utilize his talents on a more personal level. He values getting to know each couple before the big day, making sure their story is reflected honestly while filming the wedding day. Ryan loves manning the camera with a fly-on-the-wall approach, to capture candid moments throughout the wedding day

While receiving our film degrees, Ryan and I began filming wedding videos (all while falling in love with each other). We immediately became captivated with the amount joy bursting through our camera lenses. With every wedding since, we feel honoured to capture vows of devotion two individuals promise to each other.

Eventually, it was our turn to tie the knot. Not only did we now understand the stress of wedding planning, we gained first-hand experience on budgeting for one. It gave us a fresh perspective with what individuals want and deserve for their wedding day. Therefore, we continue to operate with the goal of allowing couples on a budget to be able to enjoy the gift of having a wedding film.
