the filmmakers& vow-takers
In 2015, during film school, a mutual friend brought Ryan over to me (Faith) one day and tried to set us up.
“Do you like Harry Potter? So does Faith!”
But we weren’t able to connect any further at the time, so the moment was briefly forgotten.
The next month, for an upcoming short film, we both secretly requested to our teacher that we work together; me as the director and Ryan as the assistant director (foreshadowing?!). During the production we connected so easily, and quite honestly, fell in love within a few weeks. After the short film, one of our school assignments was to film a wedding. We met a special couple and they agreed to let us capture their day. We left the wedding saying to each other,
“Did you see the joy on their faces today? I love weddings. How can we do this again?”
And the rest was history. We have been filming together ever since.
Eventually, it was our turn to tie the knot. During 2020, like many couples of the time, we had to change both our wedding date and our perspective. We had a socially distanced church ceremony with only 22 guests, who promptly left following the I Do’s. Our wedding reception consisted of us alone at a restaurant. But it was just right for us: intimate and romantic. The next year, we had a small, yet magical reception with our family (who wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to wear their wedding dress twice!?).
We now understood the stress of wedding planning, but it also gave us a fresh perspective on what each couple wants and deserves for their wedding day. There are so many sources out there, both trendy and traditional, telling you what your wedding should look like. We hope that your wedding day is whatever you want it to be. We want to capture all the moments that make your love story, uniquely yours.
